This armoire is great for storage! The shelves are totally adjustable with wooden teeth for the shelves held up with wooden sticks. The middle shelf has 2 lingerie drawers, one that has the original brass lock and one where the lock has been lost. The lock works with the 3 keys that are included!

The hand carved shell, flower and leaf details on the cap and sides of the panels are very intricate. The drawers are hand dovetailed and the escutcheons are brass and original to the armoire. What can I say about the inlay pattern! It is absolutely exquisite and amazingly detailed. The craftsmen have managed to almost replicate even the shaded parts of the inlay…incredible craftsmanship!

The beveled mirror has a couple of spots where the silvering is going but is not really noticeable. Note the depth of the bevel on this mirror.

French armoires generally come apart flat for easier shipping and moving. This armoire comes apart in 16 pieces – the cap, base, 2 sides, 2 backs, 3 doors, 2 posts and 5 shelves. It is very easy to put together, the armoire pieces slot together and then it is bolted together. This makes the armoire very solid and stable.

Made of solid walnut with a beautiful inlay, this armoire dates from the 1910's – 1920's. The armoire is in excellent condition with normal wear and tear as expected inside and out as indicated by the pictures. The pictures do not do justice to this extraordinary item!! Sold as is.
