This beautiful sideboard is a one-of-a-kind and although it is not in the Guinness Book of Records, it should be! What a striking focal point this would be in an entryway or dining room garnering ohhs and ahhs from all that enter! Made of solid French Oak, this sideboard is beautifully hand crafted. The drawers are put together with dovetailing. The shelves are all adjustable. The original brass handles and escutcheons are amazingly detailed. The amount of hand carving and details on this sideboard is just amazing, the pictures do not do this item justice! The Griffiths are so uncannily detailed, they look like they could fly right off the top. There is a lot of symbolism in the carvings and but the leading theme is one of prosperity and success. Notice the railing to hold hunting trophies. Way back when, Hunter Cabinets were put in the man’s den and were used to hold the household books and hunting equipment. Dating from the 1910's, the sideboard is in excellent condition. Someone cherished this Hunter Cabinet immensely to have kept it in such wonderful condition! Sold as is, complete with keys for all the locks.

NOTE: This sideboard breaks down into very manageable and shippable pieces. The base is one piece, the back splash with the railing is one piece, the upper cabinet is one piece, the railings, finials and crest on the top of the upper cabinet all come off, the legs holding the upper cabinet are each a piece and the carved piece and finials on the bottom of the upper cabinet come off too. The shelves come out and all the doors are on pins and come off very easily.

The hunter cabinet is 39 1/2"H to the top of the dresser, 106 1/2"H total x 60"W x 22"D.   The weight has not been determined yet, but I'm sure it is close to 200 lbs.   Although this sideboard is 8'10 1/2" high, if you were to take off the legs and crest at the top, it would fit an 8' ceiling.

A great piece of Antique furniture that will be an asset to your home!
